About Monika...

Hi Everyone!

My name is Monika and I live in coastal California. I am a science teacher at local school teaching 11-14 year old kids. Before becoming a teacher I worked as a wildlife biologist, mostly working with marine birds.

In my spare time I go out with binoculars to check out the bird life around my area. I also am an open water swimmer and go swimming in the ocean once or twice a week. I commute to work by bike and prefer to get around without a car if possible.

I love hearing from people all over the world! What you write on the back of the card is more important to me than what is on the front. That said, I do love the following kinds of card:

-National Parks
-State or Provincial Parks
-Monuments and Memorials
-Interesting Geological, Geographical or Natural Features
-Military History
-Airplanes
-Rockets and Spacecraft
-Scientifically interesting places
-View of the landscape around where you live

If you don't know what to write, here are a few ideas.
-Tell me about what is on the front of your postcard, why is it interesting? Do you have any stories about it? Do you have a connection with this particular picture?
-Tell me about your life, what is a typical day like for you? What did you do yesterday, today what are you doing tomorrow?
-I also love to here about the place you live, what is unique about it? What local traditions or festivals do you have? Why do you love your home town?

If you could write the date on the card I would also appreciate that ( I am collecting all of the cards I receive and like to have a date to help keep track of what is what).

Thank you in advance for anything you send! I really do feel connected to everyone who writes to me!

Monika
