I am in my 70's, I live alone but I have 4 grown up children & 4 grandchildren, 2 boys & 2 girls. I trained as a nurse but once I married & had my family I worked at jobs where I could also look after my children. I now enjoy having my grandchildren visit whenever they can. Because of disability am unable to pursue many of the activities I used to enjoy, I attended night school some years ago & did a course on Sugarcraft, I really enjoyed making beautiful flowers & other cake decorations & am a bit sad I can no longer do this, however, I enjoy reading & spending time in my garden enjoying the sun ( when it appears ) I also go out every day, just so I meet people & as I use a mobility scooter, I get around quite a lot. I received my first postcard today, Mon. 15th Aug. & I am looking forward to receiving many more. I live in Whitby, on the North Yorkshire Coast, I am born & bred here, I love my home town & we are a very busy place all year round, tourists come from all over the world, the town featured in the TV series Heartbeat but is also famous for connections to Capt. James Cook AND the legend of Dracula, the book features Whitby as being where Count Dracula stepped ashore from the damaged ship. Twice a year we have two weekends where hundreds of Goths arrive from Fri. to Mon. & they generate lots of photographers to town, the costumes the Goths wear are stunning & they are a very welcome site here. I love dogs, I had a Staffordshire Bull Terrier but, as she was ill, I had to make the heart breaking decision to let the vet end her life peacefully & now I only have my tropical fish to look at. I don't mind what postcards I receive as long as I do get some. lol.
