giraffelois

This used to be my mother's account, but I took it over when she passed away in April 2011. I have another account, so I'm leaving her name in the mailing address (Lois) so that I'll know which account a card is meant for.

Lois loved giraffes, and giraffe cards are still very welcome. My special animal is the hedgehog, so I'd also like to get hedgehog cards.

I'm not a stamp collector, but my mother was, and I have a great appreciation for commemorative stamps.

Card suggestions other than giraffes and hedgehogs:

• Other animals, especially ones that are specific to your area

• Birds, again, ones that are a bit unusual and are specific to your area

• Cards with a lot of purple, my favorite color

• Artistic handmade cards

• Mail boxes, postage, postal related

• Novelle images

• Chocolate

At appropriate times of the year, I'd be glad to get holiday postcards (I prefer postcards to folded greeting cards): New Years, Valentines Day, Easter (especially those showing decorated eggs), Halloween, Christmas.

In general, I'd rather have something other than a traditional tourist card, but if that's all you've got, that's fine!

For what to write, I'd like to know something about you that is not in your profile—maybe something about the day you write the postcard or some activity you enjoyed recently.

I retired in February 2012 and now have more time for my hobbies, which include bird photography, decorating eggs using the Ukrainian wax-resist technique, rubber-stamping, and creating collages.
