About garooko...

Hi! I am a middle-aged woman living in Tokyo, JAPAN.
My town is located on the east edge of Tokyo.

I often enjoy horseback riding and sometimes work at the pony park to support kids' activity on weekends.

I love
-- horseback riding
-- riding ferris wheels and enjoy bird's eye view
(I visited Vienna to ride the world's oldest ferris wheel
Wiener Riesenrad, which is shown in the movie "The third man".)
-- visiting zoos, aquariums and wild life parks
-- collecting souvenir floating pens
-- stationery like cards, letter pads, tiny envelopes called
"Pochi-bukuro" in Japanese
-- fountain pens (I have almost 80 pens. Half of them have orange colored bodies)
-- making small handicrafts e.g. sewing, crocheting, beadwork
-- orange colored goods

I joined Postcrossing Project NOT TO COLLECT postcards, but TO LEARN SOMETHING from encounters by chance.
So, all the cards you send me are welcome.
Ad cards, handmade cards and self-printed ones are OK.
Please make sure to write something about you, your place, and/or motifs in your card.
I would like to know people and their lives in different cultures.
Cards with only "Greeting from ~~" are disappointing for me.

Following is my preference list, for your information
-- Historic monuments or landmarks in your place
-- Ethnic costume or traditional attire in your culture
-- Local food and/or beverage in your place
-- Ferris wheels, merry-go-rounds, carousels
-- Horses
Native breed of your country is especially welcome.
(e.g. Freisian horse of Netherlands, Andalusian horse of Spain
My avatar is a Japanese native pony Kiso-uma)
-- Sea mammals like sea otters, seals, sea lions, walrus and etc.
-- Penguins

Do you know the Japanese term "Ichi-go Ichi-e"?
I think it is the best term to describe the spirit of Postcrossing Project.
Ichi-go means one time, and Ichi-e means one meeting.
This phrase tells us the importance of cherishing "one chance".

When I choose a card, write a message and select stamps for you, I am always in the attitude of "Ichi-go Ichi-e".

In case that the card I send you might show religious motifs (statue of Buddha, temples, shrines and etc) or war-related monuments/places, please do not get me wrong.
I have NO INTENTION to express a religious or political message.
I just want to introduce you Japanese culture or our historical places.
