I’m a lawyer from Saint Petersburg, Russia. When I was a child I lived with my parents for nine years on Kamchatka, and since then I have a weakness for wilderness and sea landscapes.
I have a passion for reading. I like poetry, English and Latin American literature, and in my heart I'll always have a place for the books of my childhood (Hobbit, Lewis Carroll's Alice's adventures, the Oz books, and Sherlock Holmes stories). I'm learning Spanish to read books by Cortázar and Borges in original language someday. In my teens, I read a lot of sea stories and Frontier life books and dreamed to see faraway shores. These books fascinate me even now but I haven't travelled much. I try to never miss a chance to visit a ship and I’m a museum-goer because I like historical weapons and armour, historical costumes, and everything else that reminds me of some story or the other.
I enjoy watching retrospectives and theatre screenings in the cinemas, and I’m always waiting for something new, especially if it was directed by Quentin Tarantino, Jim Jarmusch, Coen Brothers, or Wes Anderson. Some of my favourite films from other directors are The Fall (2006), Hunt for the Wilderpeople, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Once Upon a Time in America, El secreto de sus ojos. I'm passionate about noir and neo-noir, and when I'd like to see the good guys won I watch The Marvel Cinematic Universe films. I like BBC adaptations of classic novels as well as some other TV series (Jeeves and Wooster, Game of Thrones, True Detective, Fargo, Peaky Blinders). I listen to BBC radio shows (e.g., John Finnemore's ones, I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue, The Unbelievable Truth).
As to music, I like Depeche Mode, Jack White, Led Zeppelin, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Pink Floyd, Queen, R.E.M., Sting.
I love figure skating and I take figure skating lessons since 2016.
I'm into drawing and cross-stitching and sometimes I create handmade cards for those who express an interest in them:
I’ll be happy to hear from you!
