An educated rodent currently living in wild west of Herefordshire

Looking out over the wide valley as I write (very educated rat!) from our homestead where we (me, the wife and the ratlings) live with dog and cats (very tolerant rodent !)...

The leaves are green

The river is wide

The apples are red and rosy
(well actually they are cider apples so they are small, green and warty but that is not poetic)

Life is so much better here than the big city where I used to be ... truly out of the rat race here .. found my way out the maze, grabbed the big cheese and scuttled out here ...

Bliss!

Happy to receive postcards from anywhere from anyone (from anywhen if you have access to a time portal ... seen some strange things in laboratories over the years) ...
... the more eclectic, unusual or just plain weird the better (but don't frighten the mail carrier please) ...

... also good art pics welcome (that is anything before the cubists ... you cannot beat a good impressionist canvas to nibble on ...) ...

... but really anything from away over the shiny sea would be good ... want the ratlings to see there is a whole world out there full of fascinating, interesting, friendly, strange (occasionally) but still nice people ...

Please, no cards in envelopes (cannot open them with tiny hands - typing = yes - envelope gum = no) ...
... also no handmade either ... I know it's lovely to send something you or your kits have personally created ... but this will only unleash the creative daemons in my ratlings ... and after the incident with the glitter, glue and the school guinea-pig ... well, let us just say that art and craft is off the schedule for the moment

If you have read this far, you really needs to ask yourself why?

If nothing else people will wonder why - and a little mystery and curiosity is what makes the world turn (as well as Newtonian mechanics ... at least that's what Isaac says ... reminds me, must close that portal before we go to bed ...)

Update - have been asked by several ... so thought it helpful to list here ... just a list of what I have been exposed to across the years in several 'institutes' ... all in the name of "science" :) ...

Authors to check out - Neil Gaiman (Edgar Allen Poe of the 21st C), Philip Pullman (just for the finale in the 'Dark Materials' trilogy - takes a while to get there but so sad ...), also 'Jonathan Livingstone Seagull' and 'The Time Traveller's Wife' worth a look - also Stephen King's 'Hearts in Atlantis'

Films - so many but definitely 'Silent Running', 'The Princess Bride' (never trust a six fingered man), 'Blade Runner', 'The Searchers', 'On the Waterfront' (I too coulda been a contender) ..., oh and 'Goodfellas' ("Funny?!? How exactly am I funny?")

Albums - sorry but am an old rat so unless you can handle it, it ain't an album - running out of characters now - before all is 'Argus'
