I live in Elizabeth City, North Carolina in the United States of America. I am a retired teacher, having taught for 39 years. I taught kindergarten, first, second, and third grades during my career. I also taught grades four and five in summer school. I ended my career as a reading specialist.
I love animals. I own two Australian cattle dogs, a four year old fawn colored pug, a 22 month old black pug puppy, a cat, and two sugar gliders. I have had many kinds of pets including mice, hamsters, Guinea pigs, cockatiels, hedgehogs, tropical fish, betas, and gerbils.
My all time favorite food is any kind of cheese and vanilla soft serve ice cream!
I have one daughter who is 31 years old and lives in Virginia.
I love to read both adult and children's books. At one time, I owned over 4000 children's books but I'm now down to about 2000.
I enjoy being outdoors in the warm sunshine, either working in the yard, hiking, kayaking sunning, going to the beach, walking, bird watching, sightseeing, working jigsaw puzzles, plus various crafts like Quilling and diamond art as well as Lego kits (floral, succulents, bonsai trees).
I love anything peacock, beach decor, and Jack Skellington, Sally, and Zero.

Since retiring, I am determined to visit all 50 states in America and traveling outside of the U.S. So far, I have been to Canada and Aruba as well as Florida, Washington state, Alaska, Montana, Illinois , North Carolina, Maryland, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington, D.C. Georgia, Alabama, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and New Jersey. I love postcards and have a vast collection of picture postcards from all over the U.S. and other countries that have been given to me. I even have a postcard from 1911 and 1912. I collect commemorative stamps so I love colorful or unusual stamps. Anything you want to share about where you live, what you like, or about you would be terrific! I love watching old movies, especially those that make me cry and Disney classics. I love music, especially Christian contemporary songs sung by Chris Tomlin, Matt Mahre, the Newsboys, andMercy Me (plus others) but I also enjoy listening to classical music and music from the 70’s and 80’s.

I am retired from my job at my church's child care center where I worked as a PreK 3 teacher due to a move fro my home in Virginia to a home in North Carolina.

I welcome most any postcard but love ones that bring a smile to my face when I take them from the mailbox!
