About Fred...

I'm a computer programmer and a stamp & cover collector. I also have a university degree in architecture, though I've never practiced in that field, as well as a degree in computer science. I'm especially interested in postal material from southeast Asia (particularly Thailand!), Sri Lanka, Japan, France, and Bermuda. I enjoy going to stamp shows to find new material.

Postcards are kept intact; stamps are not removed for my collection! However, if you have some used stamps you think I might be interested in, I'd certainly appreciate your enclosing them in an envelope with your card; I'll be sure to send a thank-you card in return! (Please include your address.)

I enjoy reading science fiction & fantasy, and a bit of history from time to time. Time to read, of course, is hard to come by these days.

I'm especially interested in cards that show what's unique about your culture, especially customs and architecture, but also interesting monuments and features of the landscape. Other cards are welcome as well, of course.

Postal stationery is welcome as well, if you find that more convenient than a commercial postcard. I'm happy to receive the cards or other stationery your postal service prepares either written, or un-written in an envelope.

If you prefer postcards in envelopes: I'll check your profile, but it's a good idea to mention your preference if requesting a direct swap, in case I miss it.

If you prefer postcards written & stamped: I can do that, too! I'll try to attend to your preferences.
