1st of April 2024. HELLO, EVERYBODY, ALL AROUND THIS WONDERFUL WORLD! Remember always; SMILE and LAUGH, it doesn't take any time or money, but it gives a lot!

Here's one old retired seaman named Esa, who's now dropped his anchor in a small quiet village named Vihti in southern Finland. I have one wife, three adult children and seven grandchildren.

When I was younger, I had a chance to travel a lot all around the world. I have sailed on all the oceans and seas and visited in many many countries.
Now I'm pensioner and have a chance to do what I like during the days, if my wife doesn't order something else.
I'm interest all kind of sports, especially figure skating, which I LOVE, biathlon, orienteering and biking. I also do orienteering myself. I like the wild nature and most of the animals. I'm also reading a lot, all kind of books. I do winter swimming in the ice hole too, it's wonderful.
One of my hobbies is collect angels, fairies and mermaids (statues, figurines, cards, pictures, stamps)

.....but that's how it was before my wife got sick, she has Alzheimer and dementia. Then all my days went helping and watching after her. So I didn't have any other hobbies, except this postcrossing, which I did during the night time when she was sleeping. This I could do, because this is a silent hobby. Though, of course, I needed also to sleep sometimes.

.....and now I'm starting a new period in my life again, after five years care taking. My wife moved to the nursing home in 29th of November so I got my own life back. I can start my hobbies, at least the winter swimming and long walks in nature. Maybe I can also meet some people.... though it seems I have become quite timed about other persons. Let's see what's happens.
