Hi! My name is Athena, and I live in Manila. It's beautiful here: the people, the islands (we have more than 7000) but it's also difficult: the politics, our dictator. So I'm a socially inept nerd trying to survive the struggle.

I love reading - in fact, am currently going through Louise Gluck's The Wild Iris and would highly recommend her Matins! Poetry makes me nervous (is it good? why do I like it? do other people like it?) but I'm trying to unlearn that via exposure. I think it's great that it's art you have to earn. I would love to hear about any literature you enjoy!

I enjoy traveling, music, tea, Disney movies, Harry Potter, astronomy, Oscar Isaac, Star Wars, but I am easily delighted, so anything you send me would be great! I have a dog, Darla, who is just the best little puppy.
