I work at a museum that tells the story of the history and culture of Atlantic Canada and I love learning about maritime and labour history and maritime industries. If you live or work on the water (whatever type of body of water) it would be great to see it or hear about it. I'd also love to hear if you are a member of a union/worker organization or come from a union/worker organization family (I know that can mean very different things in different places).
I enjoy learning about people and who they are and where they come from, so tell me something about you. Please write what you like, but if you need some ideas:
--What do you like or dislike about where you live?
--What did you want to be when you grew up (or if you are younger, what do you want to be when you grow up)?
--What makes you happy? What makes you angry?
--Do you like or dislike your name? Where did your name come from?
--What do you do for work and what would make it better?
--Tell me a secret, something you want to get off your chest.
Some types of cards that make me extra happy:
--Postallove (don't we all just want postallove? :)
--Mailboxes/Postal service related
--Libraries and Museums (particularly interiors, or community museums, community libraries)
--Signs (Store signs, street signs, Welcome To signs, etc.)
--collections of things.
--windows and doors
--anti-trump, anti-fascist, pro-immigrant, women's marches, pro-union, pictures of protest signs, cards that support these movements (you get the idea :)
--Your favorite place in your community or country, or something you're proud of.
In the winter (January-April) I love pictures that are colourful. It's foggy and dark and snowy so cards that have colour or are really appreciated during those months!
I prefer not to receive advertisement cards unless you explain why you chose that card.
I'm cool with handmade cards.
*****I'm happy to do direct swaps but I have limited time so if you want a card from me give me a reason why, it will up the chances of me responding. :) *****
P.S. There's only one "Please No" request and it's a bit silly. I grew up in Cambridge Mass so please, if you are writing from Mass/Boston/Cambridge please don't send me photos of Harvard. I'll be thrilled to get any other image of home, but the universities--well you know we have a complex relationship :)
P.P.S. I don't have the capability or time to scan cards so please scan your card before you send it if that's something you care about.
