About Emily...
Hello,
My name is Emily Ember. I live in the United States in Portland, Oregon.
-I like to draw, paint, embroider & write.
-I like learning strange facts about animals, the ocean and outer space.
-I love tidepools and finding small shells or creatures at the beach.
-I love horror movies, scary music, shoegaze & dreampop.
-I want to learn to play synthesizers and the drums. Right now I am working on a solo guitar project with lots of loops & reverb.
-My favorite creature on earth is my dog, Dinah. She’s grumpy and old & she’s been by my side since she was a tiny puppy.
Content suggestions;
I would like to hear anything about you, your life or your city. Send a poem, a haiku or a detailed description of your setting or mood. Tell me an interesting historical event that happened near your home.
I am interested in the mythology and superstitions of other countries (in particular, cryptozoology). Tell me about your local good/bad luck charms or bogeymen!
Do you know of any unique sayings or idioms in your language? Please explain them to me.
My two favorite animals are whales & bears (not teddy bears, wild bears!) I’m pretty good at drawing whales and narwhals- If you feel like drawing me a whale (of any kind) I would treasure it forever.
I always love new and interesting stamps!
Cards:
I love historic cemeteries, any cemetery pictures would be absolutely amazing!! Photos of lighthouses, ships or water of any form are among my favorites.
I particularly enjoy black and white photographs, vintage ads or art, illustrations, Moomins, wild animals (woodland creatures, rabbits, large birds, particularly bears, but really- not teddy bears!), airplanes, outer space (the moon in particular), local art... I prefer things that are strange or maybe a bit on the darker side, send me something weird!! I will appreciate any region specific card that is sent to me!
I love tarot cards/ fortune cards and unusual playing cards as well. If you would like to send one in place of, in addition to, or taped onto a postcard, I would be thrilled.
ZINE SWAP: if you make zines or have a favorite zinester in your community, please send me one you enjoy! I will send you one in return to make up for any extra postage :)
I look forward to sending and receiving postcards with all of you! If you want to include a return address I will try to write back.

Direct swaps: I am interested. I cannot always accommodate specific requests but I will always put love and thought into whatever I send!
If there is anyone who would like to become long-term pen pals based on similar interests, please do not hesitate to ask! I would love to exchange letters for awhile or do an art or media exchange.
I am hoping to form some interesting friendships & learn new things about the world through this website.
Cheers!
