About Dagmara...

I'm a woman, born in 1980, a philologist by education and heart. I love books, both fiction and non-fiction - literature is my great passion, and 19th century classics have a special place on my shelves. I'm interested in history, religions, mythologies, folklore and fairytales of the world. Was it possible, I would travel more, but life is... well, life.

Your cards will be used as bookmarks for my favourite books (I have many!).

I'd appreciate cards with art reproductions (religious works of art too, non-Christian as well), more or less famous pieces of historic architecture (personal sentiment for Paris and pictures that don't focus on the Eiffel Tower, as if it was the only thing worth seeing in the city), historic fashion and interiors. Also, if you own one of these museum cards with pictures of historic furniture, pottery, figurines etc., I love them!

I'm not a big fan of modern architecture - if possible and you have a choice, I'd rather prefer a card with a landscape instead, or a night view (if impossible, don't mind me).

Multiview cards are OK, but cards with a single view are Better ;) And the night views are always wonderful!

Especially welcomed will be cards relating in any way to my beloved 19th century, cards somehow connected with books (people reading etc.) and actual book illustrations. I'm also a fan of old photography, so if you find a card with a reproduction of a photo from early 20th/late 19th (yum!) century, I'll be happy to recieve it.

Cards with printed text in non-Latin letters (Russian alphabet, Asian ideograms etc.) are welcomed!

If I may ask, no cards with cartoon characters and movie/music/sports stars, please - save them for fans (unless you are able to find one with a picture from a movie set in 19th century, or want to have a look at my tumblr to see what I fangirl). I don't really like animal cards, but this rule allows exceptions (dachshunds, *please*! and elephants!).

[Below is a request directed to literature fans - you don't have to answer, but I'm curious -]

If you found time to look at the Literature of the World map https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/606gq2/literature_map_of_the_world_v2_now_with_book_list/ please tell me: is the book assigned to your country as "the best of" still good nowadays, or is it one of the noble classics everybody feels obliged to talk about with respect, but very few people read out of their free will? Would you honestly recommend it? (I stand by the choice for Poland SO MUCH!) Would you put another title instead? Or do you see something worth a look in your neighbourhood that I might have missed?

(Also, please, do let me know if you are or have ever been a librarian :)
