About Ellen...

I am a book lover and reader--and this is a good thing as I am a librarian. For many years I was a children's librarian but now I work in a high school. I have just begun to listen to audio books--that way I can sew (see below) and read at the same time! I am married with two grown children and have just become a Gran for the second time to a beautiful little girl! I am blessed to have two granddaughters!! I also have a sweet little black and white girl cat, PattyAnn.

My husband and I love to travel to historical places in our area and to visit cemeteries. There are so many stories and beautiful sculpture in cemeteries. I take many, many photographs of every place that we visit. I live in northern Delaware and am surrounded by history and museums.

I love to keep busy with hobbies. I stitch counted cross stitch and am a member of my local sampler guild. I collect books, travel brochures, POSTCARDS and vintage sewing tools, to name a few things! I think there is something special about hand writing a letter or postcard and waiting for the postman to deliver "happy mail".

I am really looking forward to receiving postcards from around the world! I am interested in all kinds of subjects--but if you need some suggestions:

-Art: any art related, but in particular old Dutch Masters, Impressionism
-Architecture and buidlings: cathedrals, historical places, museums, monuments, palaces, sculpture, bridges
-Anything book related! I love Austen, Dickens, George R.R. Martin, Tolkien, Tolstoy, J.K. Rowling and anything Harry Potter!
-Beaches, coastlines
-Buddha
-Children's book illustration from your country
-Cemeteries
-City views
-Dali Lama
-Finnish grannies
-Holidays--Christmas, New Years, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, etc. plus cards of your national holiday would be great!
-Lighthouses
-Maps
-Moomins :-) All and any Moomins
-Natural wonders from your part of the world
-Turtles or any creature with a shell
-Photography
-Royalty
-Keep calm and . . . .
-Stamps, postal and postcrossing related
-Tourist cards
-Trolls, gnomes, TOMTENS
-Vintage style cards
-UNESCO world heritage sites

-OR just show me what is special in your area of the world! I love to receive any post card! Please include the date on your cards and an added bonus would be interesting stamps. Please write in your native language if you would like, with an English translation.

Happy postcrossing!
