About Andrew...
Hey everyone. I'm a recently minted thirty-something living in San Francisco after a long stint living in Los Angeles. I work as a computer programmer at a start up here in the Bay Area, but before that I worked in neuroscience labs, working with MRI images and leeches (not at the same time). I studied Computation and Neural Systems at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), so I definitely love neuroscience, computer science, and their intersection.
I enjoy a wide variety of things, such as: hiking, camping, travel, neuroscience, cooking, politics, economics, science fiction, Russian literature, astronomy, and photography. I tend to be analytical yet think about "big picture" kinds of things (theories, explanatory frameworks) more than fiddle with the details.
I joined Postcrossing so that I could hear from people all over and catch little glimpses into other countries and cultures. If you could include a word or two--or even the entire message--in your native language (with English translation if applicable) that'd be great. Also, the date you wrote it. Otherwise, I don't really have any preferences for what kind of postcards; it may be interesting if you write about why you chose that particular postcard.
