I love to travel and learn things about different cultures and history, to experience nature and explore architecture and design. I also enjoy playing volleyball, hiking and more recently jogging. I have two dogs and have been an animal lover since my childhood. I grew up in Wisconsin on a farm with cows, horses, ducks, chickens, geese, and a goat. Some of my other hobbies are sewing, trying different types of art forms - last summer I traveled to Scandinavia to attend a print workshop - photography, and reading.

I attended The Illinois Institute of Art here in Chicago and received an interior design degree. After college, I spent 14 years working for a paint company where my team designing the color tools you use to pick paint colors for your home. Most people like to hear that I named colors as part of my job.

I am new to Postcrossing and am not sure what type of postcards I would like to receive. I think that I might prefer non-tourist/commercial type cards. Here are some ideas:
- artistic
- illustrations
- historical
- vintage
- local (cards that are used for advertising an interesting event, place, artist, etc.)

I, of course, will be happy with anything but thought I would provide some ideas for those of you who would like them. Once I start receiving cards you can check out my favorites.

Also, I would love to see interesting stamps on the postcards - it's amazing to see how many different kinds there are! An art of their own, really. If you wouldn't mind including the date and temperature where your at that would be fun too!
