About Katherina...

Hello Postcrosser,

I have always been a lover of postcards. I used to travel quite a bit, both locally and internationally (not anymore, thanks COVID!), and I've always enjoyed sending postcards as well as keeping them as a souvenir for myself.

I collect old postcards, letters and photographs from the 18th, 19th and early 20th century (I haven't yet found anything from before then but would love to find 17th century material). I look for really unique ones when I'm searching through boxes at flea markets. I'll swap you a postcard for some old photos :)

I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province with the biggest heart, with my partner and three cats-Fred, Monster and Walnut.

I really enjoy
*Reading-I have a BA in English Lit, specializing in early Canadian Literature
*Making crafty things- accessories, knitting, dress pockets, buttons-anything!
*Travelling-got to collect those postcards
*Gardening-My partner is allergic to grass so I am slowly removing it all and replacing it with gardens
*Photography-I use old manual canon lenses on my digital for fun natural effects.

Postcards I like include
*landscapes
*old architecture or castles
*paintings or drawings of all kinds
*people-especially candid shots
*black and white photos
*19th century portrait postcards
*postalove
*vintage pin-ups
*postcards with quotes
*pictures of authors
*pictures of food, especially older vintage looking images
*books or bookshops-anything and everything
*animals-especially cats and birds! or baby animals

Check out my favorite cards for ideas.

I'll also except cool old postcards that have been written on. Just send them in an envelope instead.

I appreciate every card I get no matter what it is and I would never say no to a good old fashioned HELLO FROM NEW YORK! type postcard. Every postcard is such a lovely surprise.

I would love to hear a little bit about yourself or your country. You could tell me what you enjoy reading or watching on TV, things that are popular where you're from, famous books or authors, your favorite book growing up, what your current hobby is, a little thing that makes you happy everyday, why you joined postcrossing. Any of that good stuff!

I'm really looking forward to making new friends and especially sending everyone their postcards. Happy Postcrossing!

Best,

Kate
