About Dan...

I discovered Postcrossing while looking for postcard exchange programs for my students. I used to teach elementary students English as a Second Language (ESL). I retired in June of 2016.
I love to travel, taught high school for a year in the Marshall Islands, and have a sister that lives in Australia. Have informally been collecting postcards I've received since I was a child.
I was born and raised in the beautiful city of San Diego, California. Currently I live in the greater Los Angeles area. Visiting Hollywood is not a great attraction for me, but frequenting Disneyland is. Ask me any Disney questions or advice inquiries you might have! I have been an extra in a Hollywood movie though - "Seabiscuit", a film about a famous racehorse. It was filmed at the racetrack he actually raced at (Santa Anita), which is in my hometown - Arcadia. I am a big Los Angeles Lakers fan too.
I have been married to my college sweetheart since 1981. We have two children, a boy born in 1991 and a girl born in 1994. My son is currently a PhD student in Marine Biology at Stanford University, and my daughter is getting her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Washington.

I welcome any postcard you choose for me, but I do especially enjoy:
Trains...trams...subways...monorails...gondolas, etc!
