About Carmen...

Hello,

My name is Carmen and I am from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

I love traveling and learning about different cultures and Postcrossing is the perfect way to do that. I have traveled to 5 continents (North America, South America, Africa, Asia and Europe), 27 countries and countless cities- I want to see and learn about the entire world!

You can write me some random trivia or old myths about the creation of the world or other mythology! I also like inspirational quotes, foreign films and all types of books. You can write about famous foods, dances, or festivals that occur in your city, or just about a typical day, anything is appreciated.

Please teach me how to say cheers or a common saying in your native language, except if you are German or Dutch (I have received many postcards telling me "proost" :). I collect coins from around the world so please tape a coin onto your postcard- I always include a Canadian penny on the ones I send out. Even taping a bus ticket is appreciated :)The only exception is please do not send me a Euro, I have many of those from my travels.

PLEASE NO ad, handmade cards, multiview or letters in envelopes, just a traditional postcard. I've been taping on Canadian pennies to the postcards I send out and they always make it to their destination.

Other postcards I like:
-Vintage or old-fashioned postcards
-Famous buildings
-Libraries, especially old fashioned libraries and books
-Subway maps
-UNESCO World Heritage Sites
-Landscape/cityscape from where you live
-Unique/ one of a kind postcards
-Foreign films/actors/actresses
-Weirder the better!!!

Postcrossers from Japan: I love Studio Ghibli
Postcrossers from the UK: I am a huge Harry Potter fan!
Postcrossers from South America/Spain: I am learning how to salsa so a postcard with flamenco/salsa/bachata/other types of dancing will be amazing :)
Postcrossers from Europe: I absolutely love getting pictures of old libraries
