About Carl...

My name is Carl. I live in "Upstate" New York (Finger Lakes area). I was born in Texas and lived a total of thirteen years outside the United Sates (10 years in Germany and 3 years in Okinawa). I have traveled throughout Europe. I flew jets and helicopters for twenty years with the United States Air Force. My wife is Beverly and we have two adult children.

I appreciate ANY card you choose for me.

Love postcards with more than one stamp.

I love:
-maxi-cards
-black and white,
-scandalous
-vintage political/propaganda postcards with people
-Vintage Real Photo Postcards (RPPC) (especially with vintage motorcycle)
- Roaring 20s / silent film stars / images from of Berlin or Paris in the 1920's and 30's
-street scenes with interesting people
-Royals
-Vintage military aircraft and rockets from the 1950-80's

My wife and I collect sea glass from all over the world. If you have a small piece and are sending an envelope please drop in a piece of sea glass and tell us were you found it.

-My wife loves ephemera, cactus, postcards with someone knitting, Inge Löök and Hundertwasser postcards. Her birthday is in March, so send her birthday cards in February and March. Mention that you are sending it for Beverly.

People I find very interesting:
Mata Hari / Audrey Hepburn / Betty Davis / Isadora Duncan / Ruth St. Denis / Lillian Powell / Evan-Burrows Fontaine / Josephine Baker / Tarsila do Amaral / Marilyn / Brigitte Bardot / Veronica Lake / Mary Wigman.

- I do not like: Landscapes, buildings with no people in the photograph, typical tourist postcards, animals, food, flowers.

Wenn Sie aus Deutschland, bitte schreibe in Deutsch!” Ich bin Deutsch lernen. Vielen Dank.

Don’t worry about the card as I appreciate ANY card you choose to send,

If you are an artist, please paint me a card or make the card and the envelope as I would love it. You may want to send it in envelope to protect the art. I love artistic people.

It is helpful to me if you put your Postcrossing name (ID) on the card. That way I can learn something about you before I reply to your card. Sometimes it helps if the card got damaged or had a postmark applied over your name.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to write and send me a card! I know international postage is rather expensive in many parts of the world and I greatly appreciate your time and effort being a part of the Postcrossing community.
