I live in the small town of Belper, Derbyshire, UK which is in the UNESCO Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. I am 72, married to Patricia and live with her and my stepson Allan. I am retired after working in the railway industry for many years and later in the voluntary sector. Trish has now retired and was an officer in charge of a dementia unit.
My hobbies including travelling by train, reading, canals, trams, watching non-league football (Matlock Town), doing competitions and buying and selling online. My favourite singer is Maddy Prior of Steeleye Span. My favourite pastime though is spending time with my 14-year old grandson Jackson and his little 11-year old brother Robson.
I am happy to receive any postcards (even advertising cards) but especially like those with a transport or postal theme such as trains, trams, post boxes and telephone boxes.
