I am an introspective, abstract artist. My world is made special by books of all kinds... Buddhist thought, poetry, food, and creativity in addition to novels. I love to cook, especially with locally grown food. I keep fresh herbs in pots year round. I love all kinds of music from Leonard Cohen to opera, Il Volo to violin concertos. In the last few years I have been hiking on the many trails here in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I live in such a beautiful area of this country. You can find some great views at http://www.carolinafoothillschamber.com/
I am in love with life and my husband of 46 years. We have two wonderful daughters who are married with their own families. We've lived in South Carolina for over 15 years now, but it is a totally different experience than my home for my first 55 years in Massachusetts! My avatar is a photo of me looking through a stack of postcards that my granddaughter gave me for Christmas 2015. :)
Please understand that each and every card I receive is welcome, so never apologize if you don't have something on this list.
My highest wish for 2017 is that you speak of kindness or find a card which embodies some aspect of kindness. I consider the sharing of kindness to be a high priority in our world right now. We all live in different countries, yet often share similar interests and concerns. I want to know what yours are.
I discovered this article today, May 3, 2017 and want to pass it along to share the concept: http://www.dailygood.org/story/1594/robert-bengston-inspiration-campaign-awakin-call-editors/
I love to receive unusual cards!
up close street scenes
chairs (single or in pairs) close up if possible
spirals, labyrinths or mazes
illustrations or collage
https://www.postallove.com/Postcards/Greetings-from-series: I have received Belgium, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Lithuania, Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom and United States and would love to collect more!
I really appreciate it when you write a little about yourself. If you don't know what to write, tell me about your favorite book, relative, color, music, etc. and tell me why.
I have read poetry since childhood, and one favorite begins
"somewhere I have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience..." e.e. cummings
This is what postcrossing is like for me. A way to travel to places my mind hasn't taken me yet. Help me know about your life and your country. I care.
My favorite quote: "Human kind, be both" -Pancho Ramos Stierle
