I am an introspective, abstract artist. My world is made special by books of all kinds... Buddhist thought, poetry, food, memoirs, humor... I love to cook, especially with locally grown food. I love all kinds of music from Leonard Cohen to opera, blues to violin concertos. In the last few years I have been hiking on the many trails here in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I live in such a beautiful area of this country. You can find some great views at http://www.onlyinyourstate.com/south-carolina/landrum-sc/ and http://www.carolinafoothillschamber.com/
I am in love with life and my husband of 52 years. We have two wonderful daughters who are married with their own families. We've lived in South Carolina for over 20 years now, but it is a totally different experience than my home for my first 55 years in Massachusetts! My avatar is a photo of me looking through a stack of postcards that my granddaughter gave me for Christmas 2015. :)
Please understand that each and every card I receive brings me pleasure, so never apologize if you don't have something on this list.
I love to receive unusual cards!
https://www.postallove.com/Postcards/Greetings-from-series: I have received Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States and would love to collect more!
I really appreciate it when you write a little about yourself which is not already written on your profile, even if it is odd. What are your goals or concerns? What are you grateful for?
I have read poetry since childhood, and one favorite begins
"somewhere I have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience..." e.e. cummings
This is what postcrossing is like for me. A way to travel to places my mind hasn't taken me yet. Help me know about your life and your country. I care.
My favorite quote: "Human kind, be both" -Pancho Ramos Stierle
