Hello!

My name is Amanda. I am twenty two and from Southern California - though I currently live in Corvallis, Oregon because I go to school at Oregon State University. I'm pursuing a B.S. in Physics. My dream is to be a high school physics teacher.

My favorite book currently is Mark Kurlansky's "Salt", about the social and economic history of the mineral. What is your favorite book?

I shoot a traditional longbow, which is one of my pride and joys. The most recent arrows I made were with peacock wing feathers! They are cinnamon-colored! I also referee soccer (fútbol) with my Dad when I'm back at home. Do you play any sports?

What would you like more people to know about your home?

Do you like poetry? I adore Sufi poetry and I wish I knew the language so I wouldn't have to rely on inferior translations. I have a special place in my heart for Goethe's "Mignon's Song" -- I cobbled together a translation I liked and read it for my grandmother's funeral a few years ago. Kennst du das land?
