About Brin...

Since a young age, I have delighted at getting real mail. As an adult, anything that is not a bill or junk mail is met with a cheer.
I am a mother of two, wife of one, and human-hostess to a cat. Pretty typical Canadian life. I work for a charitable organization and enjoy cooking (and eating), staying active and healthy, which is pretty easy when you live in paradise. Victoria is on the southern-most tip of Vancouver Island, and has the mildest weather in Canada. Victoria has been called the town of newly-weds and nearly-deads, given that we are both a University town and a great place to retire (if you can afford it!) We've also been called more British than the British. Tourists certainly enjoy afternoon tea, strolling gardens and double-decker bus rides. We have lush forests, sandy beaches, mountains and scrub lands. You can golf and snow-ski in the same day! I prefer to hike, bike and just take in all that we have at our doorstep.
It's unlikely that I will do much world travelling but I do like to connect with people from other places. Please tell me what you love most about where you live, what makes it special, or what your favourite thing to do is when you're feeling low and want to cheer yourself up!
I'd love to see a postcard that can make me smile, such as silly sayings, puns and jokes. I especially like to receive cards with birds on them (real or imaginary), cards that are from places you yourself have visited, vintage/vintage style, anything related to France and/or the Tour de France, meetup cards, or cultural events and holidays from your part of the world. Please do not send in envelopes, unless the card itself is fragile. Homemade cards are most welcome, as are lots of unique stamps. The more stamps the merrier!
