About Bea...

Moikka!

I'm a 20-year-old girl originally from a tiny town called Loviisa but just moved to Turku to study Nordic languages, German and Hungarian in a university. As for languages - besides Finnish - I have been studying English, Swedish and German and a little bit Spanish, Hungarian and Russian, too. My next aim is to learn a bit of Nepalese language. Dogs and dog sports as well are my biggest passion and I love learning anything that has something to do with them. I'm also keen on photographing (http://flickr.com/photos/belissah) and playing the piano because of their relaxing influence.

I have two lovely dogs, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Fina and a Border Collie junior Hoina, with whom I train and compete both in agility and obedience. Training the dogs is something I could do all day long totally forgetting the time. To have a look at the dogs, click yourself into http://www.flickr.com/photos/hoinaworld

About the cards I would like to receive:

My only proper wish is that the card looks like a real photograph. If you are from any Nordic country, I'd wish to get cards that show something special about your hometown or culture - that's because of my university studies. If I ever become a teacher, postcards will be a great way to demonstrate the places or cultures. As for others, I would especially enjoy cards that present natural phenomena like hurricanes, storms, Northern lights etc. or any world religions, especially Asian and natural ones, like ancient Scandinavian, African or Australian tribes' religions. I myself have grown in a mainly Christian country, so Christian churches won't unfortunately feel that special and new to me... Other suggestions would be nature and landscapes, any typical things for your culture, Salvador Dali's paintings or astrological cards - OR just surprise me!

No matter what you end up writing or choosing, I love cards that are sent with thought and passion. :) I would also like to get a penpal of about my age from Sweden, Germany/some other country where German is spoken, Spain and Hungary - one from each country. That way I could maintain my language skills even nowadays when I don't take language lessons anymore. I would like you to write in your own language and I would reply, if possible, in the same language or just in English. Happy Postcrossing!

- Bea
