I live right down at the bottom of New Zealand. I'm a professional librarian. I love libraries and reading. I almost seem to be setting up my own library at home. I also like to visit and hunt around in second hand bookshops. There's a thrill in finding an old copy of a book, or a book with a really cool old cover. I like having books around and I do spend a lot of my time reading. I enjoy reading about history especially military history and good fiction. I also enjoy photography. I used to collect old film cameras. I have a growing interest in classical music. If you could recommend any pieces of work that would be greatly appreciated.
To me Postcrossing is about the connections with people. What is written on the back it most important and meaningful. I can find facts about your country on Wikipedia, but not about you. So learning about new people is fun.
I'm open to and like direct swaps. I am looking for any penfriends from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.
Any postcard is gratefully accepted but I do have a preference for,
*Black and white photography
*Vikings (not the tv show but that would be ok) Norse myths
*1930's and 1940's themed cards
* Nude (photography)
*Birds and bird illustrations
* The Romanovs
* Alexandra Vlasova (if any postcards exist)
I'm still after my own holy grail of postcards, Helena Bonham Carter and Tintin. I know there must be some postcards on that theme, but they remain elusive.
Thanks to some really lovely Postcrossers I have a small but growing collection of fridge magnets. If you would like to swap fridge magnets I will be very interested.
