About Jane...

I live with my husband and Himalayan cat in a historic house in the small town of Elburn, Illinois, near the university town of DeKalb (Northern Illinois University). I like to travel. We also invite guests into our home through Servas, CS, and 5W (Women Welcome Women World Wide). We live within walking distance of the commuter train that goes directly into Chicago's center ("The Loop"). We would love to see you in Elburn!

I traveled to Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and beyond from February to May 2016. Although I brought back some great new cards, both for myself and to send, I didn't find any Inge Look or Nouvelles Images cards! My next trip was to west Africa to see my exchange student daughter graduate from university in Accra, Ghana. I also visited Togo, Benin, Cote d'Ivoire, and UAE.

In Spring 2018, I'll travel to Belarus, Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova. If you have any advice about these countries, please let me know.

I enjoy almost all postcards, but I especially like:

***photos of DOORS and/or WINDOWS; postboxes/mailboxes
***country, city, state maps; subway/metro maps
***scenes from outside the city (I'm not so much into buildings except for doors/windows)
***NOUVELLES IMAGES; INGE LOOK
***languages/alphabets other than English
***recipes, local cuisine, fruit, wine
***native costumes and traditions
***cemeteries, headstones
***anything of the color BLUE or colors BLUE & YELLOW together
***insects; unusual animals

Please no advertising, photos that aren't really postcards, folded greeting cards or cut-and-paste items. I have so many multiview cards of German buildings now; maybe those can be saved for Postcrossers who more appreciate them.

I am willing to do direct swaps for postcards, stamps or cloth souvenir patches. Feel free to check my "sent" file to request an identical or similar card for a direct trade.
