About Svitlana...

My beautiful Ukraine, my homeland is bombed by russia right now when you are reading this lines.
We are hearing air alarm several times a day due to air strikes from russian and belorussian territory - sent to destroy our cities, towns, residential areas.
Crimes of Bucha, Irpin, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Hostomel, Sumy, of other destroyed cities are on russian bloody hands.
You can't imagine crimes and terror they are doing here. But you can see/read about it directly in news. Be careful about russian propagandistic news pages.
Hundreds of Ukrainian children are killed by them, by their missiles.
Hundreds of women raped by them.
Thousands of Ukrainian citizens killed by russians and burned just in their yards, in front of their own houses, on children playgrounds on the occupied territories.
russian army came to our land, to our independent country and they want to destroy us.
As a native russian speaker born in Donetsk, Eastern Ukraine, I am telling you with all the responsibility that there never was a problem to be a russian speaker in Ukraine. If you think in another way, you are fed up by russian propaganda. A lot of native russian speakers chose Ukrainian instead to help Ukraine move its own way after russia annexed Crimea and the part of Eastern Ukraine in 2014.
There is no Nazis, no biolabs here and if you trust the russian hysterics about closeness of NATO, just ask yourself, why then USA (member of NATO) bordering with russia is not a problem? Why then Norway (the member of NATO) bordering with russia is not a problem? May be the real reason of this war is another?..

Stay for Ukraine! Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!

Below is my profile actual till 24 Feb 2022.
And now finally you should not be surprised why I didn't use my native russian in the latest year of postcrossing.

Hello dear Friend,
My name is Svitlana, I live in beautiful Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.

My hobbies: travelling, photography, languages.
Enjoying cooking, reading, (oil)painting.

Some ideas for postcards:
- maxicards (special cards with matching stamps and 1st day post mark on the front side) - we collect them with all my family
- local recipes - I love good food and local cuisines are real treasures for me during the travels!
- your city / country sights - do you love your city/country how I do?
- Gnomes by Rien Poortvliet - they are just great! :-)

Some ideas to write:
What is your favourite dish or must-try for tourists in your national cuisine?
What is must-see, must-visit for tourists in your city / country?

Stay healthy and all the best!

*for Russian/Belorussian postcrossers:
Please do not use Russian while writing cards to me, use English instead - as you can see Russian is absent in the list of languages I use. Russia has brought a lot of sorrow and pain to my land and I do not use this language anymore.
