About Alysa...

I am a mother of two college-aged boys. I work in a hospital and my hobbies include hiking, genealogy, Pinterest, singing in my church choir, yard sales where I find dog-eared cookbooks with notes in the margins & vintage boardgames, cooking & baking and most recently--mailart. I attend cooking classes for fun. I also love to travel. We visited Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, France, Estonia, Latvia, China, England, & non-continental USA—Hawaii and Alaska, where we saw so many amazing sites! My family and I enjoy USA's national parks and plan to visit them all during our lifetime.

My husband & I hosted exchange students from Luxembourg, Chile, Japan, Finland and Germany. Our first student, from Finland, was chosen because I was fascinated with Finland after receiving so many Postcrossing postcards from this beautiful country! When I was a high school student, I was a host-sister to an exchange student from Japan. I am a volunteer with the exchange program that each of our students traveled with. My USA pen pals, if you want to know more about hosting exchange students, see the website I linked.

I love learning about other countries and cultures. There are so many places I want to visit in this world. Maybe you can help me see your country through postcards!

Any postcards are welcome and cherished! Here is a list that particularly makes me smile, but feel free to surprise me:

The best part of a postcard is what is written on the back! I love learning about YOU. Tell me a little about yourself; your hopes and dreams, whatever is on your mind. You can even tell me a secret, if you want to ;) I love humor, you can tell me a joke. Do you love to cook? Share your favorite recipe. Most of all, I would love to know a little of who you are, because each one of us is special.

Thank you for sharing with me. I register cards the day I receive them. If I have not registered yours in a timely manner, please send me a message.

Your American friend,
Alysa
