My name is Alex, and I live just outside Glasgow in Scotland. I'm a maintenance engineer on the railway looking after the signalling equipment.

I live with my partner and our two cats. Both of us are also studying engineering at university.

I love reading, history, and fountain pens. If anyone else is interested in these things I would love to know what your favourite book or ink is. At the moment I am reading Terry Pratchett's discworld series. I also enjoy spending time outdoors.

It would be nice if you could include an interesting fact about your area or your postcard when you're sending it. A phrase or quote in your native language would be interesting too.

I'm happy to receive any postcard, but if you'd find some inspiration helpful, I'd particularly enjoy:

- Medicine
- Your local area or culture
- UNESCO sites
- Animals/birds (especially cats)
- Countryside views
- Sea views
- Plants/cactus
- Historical cards/posters
- Sunrise/sunset

You don't have to send any of those things though, I'd be happy to receive any postcard you have. I only include a list as I find it helpful to know what people will enjoy receiving when I send my postcards.

I'd prefer not to receive folded greetings cards or homemade cards though, sorry!
