Hello! My name is Alison - or Ally. I am a Glaswegian girl living in Edinburgh! so wherever I go, Glasgow will always be my home. I live in Edinburgh, I moved to my first owned flat in October 2021 so a massive milestone for me! 🌊 my avatar shows me on Portobello Beach with the sun rising. I woke up at 6am (I’m not a morning person!) to see this and it was so worth the early start. Sunrise and sunset is beautiful. ☀️

I have been profoundly deaf since birth, so if anyone sees any postcards with sign language on it then I would love to see it! 🤘🏻 I have a black Labrador retriever called Gerry who is 2 in June 2023. He is a Hearing Dog (assistance dog) and alerts me to sounds I do not hear, for example the fire alarm or doorbell and also raises awareness that I am Deaf and may need additional support.

If you've received my profile then I am so lucky to receive a postcard from you! Please tell me about yourself and what your favourite food is, with a recipe if possible; favourite film; favourite place! Do write something in your own language with translation as I am interested to learn new languages! Give me an idea of what life is like in your home country! Tell me all about yourself :) I'm obsessed with Irn Bru, the tv show FRIENDS and the Minions, i just love them! I also have a big obsession with using Emojis - I love using them in text messaging! 👏🏻😘

Birthday cards in November would be appreciated; Christmas cards in December would be appreciated also :) at the moment I am enjoying reading quotes so please do give me a quote that you believe in. Something positive would be nice, as I sometimes have my down days.

As I get older, I am beginning to realise that life is too short - I lost my dear Dad in 2013 to cancer; he was only 61. I have caught the travel bug and love to visit new places. I have been fortunate enough to have visited over 10 countries so far (I think!) but there are many more places I would love to visit. Please tell me, in your postcard, where you stay and why I should visit your city!
