About Ruoxi...

Hi there,

A LITTLE BIT INFO ABOUT ME AND POSTCROSSING

My name is Ruoxi and I'm a college student currently living in Boston. I started postcrossing five years ago while I was a sophomore in high school in Jiaxing, China. I stopped for a long time after I went to college (therefore constanly travelling between two countries) and changed my address But now I'm back!

At that time as I recall, postcrossing was just beginning to be popular among the Chinese and I learned it from a very good friend of mine. So I started exchanging postcards and stamps and had been able to experience the joy of friendly exchanges and surprises from far-away lands. It was also at that time, a way for me to practice my English. Now I'm an English major studying in the U.S., of which I wouldn't think back then.

TRAVEL

I've also been studying art passionately and trying to travel as often I could. In 2017, I visited Istanbul and Athens for the first time, stayed in Umbria for two months during the summer studying while also travel around in Italy. I also visited Xi'an and Luoyang (for the famous Buddhist caves Longmen grottoes) while I was on vacation back home. I thinking doing postcrossing definitely fueled my passion for travel and reading literature of the world. (For example, who wouldn't want to visit the Museum of Innocence in Istanbul while one read the novel by the same title, authored both by Pamuk the Nobel laureate?)

POSTCARD PREFERENCE

I don't have particular preference for postcards, so send me any card you like :) I used to prefer more traditional types of cards, i.e. landscape, UNESCO sites, cards from museums, you know the touristy kind of cards. But I think any card would be great especially when it somehow shows the message of where you're from and who you are. And I'll try to do the same.

Happy to do direct swaps, just leave a message. Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Best,
Ruoxi (pronunciation 'Ro-shee', or just Rosie :))
