About Ying...

你好 everyone:)

This is Ying, a college student form China.

Here is the story.

I once had a friend, who had cancer. We weren't very good friends, actually we started to talk online 5 months before he died.

I only visited him at his house for twice, due to his treatments and the busy school days I had. The first time I visited him was last summer, I just started my summer vacation. I learned that he wanted to read some books . So I went there with some books that I had chosen for him. One of them was the Fault in Our Stars, a american fiction depicted a love story between two teenagers who both had cancer. I found that my friend and the hero in the fiction were so alike. Both of them had lost a leg due to the cancer. So I was hoping that he could read the book and think about his life which was going to be ended.

But he was too weak to read books, he had to rest for a long time before he can continue reading. And his right shoulder swelled because of the tumor. We enjoyed our talks and I also made puddings for him. During the second visit we even went through a small earthquake together. It was the first time we had ever experienced an earthquake. Then we had steaks and soft drinks. Before I left for school, he said ' I feel like it would be a long time before the next time I get to see you.'

' Don't worry, I will come next weekend.' I smiled.

However, that was the last time I had seen him. We both didn't know it was our last time to see each other.

The next weekend, he said that he had another friend come by so he could not see me. The week after the next, I tried to contact him online but he didn't response. So I decided to go to his house again to check whether he's doing OK. When I got their that afternoon, his sister opened the door for me and told me that he passed last night. I couldn't help but cried. His sister told me that she recognized me from my appearance and talks that I was the one who left the words on his books. Later I became friends with his sister. We are still good friends.

I suggested him to play postcossing in order to get some friends and give him something he could live for. I received two cards after he died. His sister was happy.

THANK YOU for your patience for this boring story. After he died, I have a strange feeling that I am now can also live as him. If I read all the books he had read and hear all the things about him from his family, will I become him?

So now I want to hear your story, and your thoughts about life and death. I really would appreciate that.

PLEASE TELL ME YOUR STORY LIKE I DO.

You can write a letter or a private message for a story, or just a few thoughts on a postcard. Both are welcomed. I will also reply you and tell you my thoughts.

IF you are not interested in talking about your experience that makes you think about life and death, you can SEND ME ANYTHING YOU LIKE. No pressure. Enjoy your postcrossing.

Good luck and be happy everyday.:)
