Hello postcrossers!

My name is Irina, I´m Russian living in Germany. I was born and grew up in the small Siberian town of Taishet, where the Baikal-Amur railway starts and which is a part of the Trans-Siberian Railway. My brother with his family lives there. He and his wife work on the railway, like my parents used to do and like many people in Taishet. After graduation I lived for years in the city of Irkutsk. Maybe you have heard of the Lake Baikal - the deepest lake and the largest freshwater reservoir on Earth. Irkutsk is located not far from it.
I have been living in Germany, in the southern Black Forest, since 2006. I love the nature in this area and go often for walks with my children in the nearby forest. In Russia I was a German teacher, in Germany I´m working with my husband who is a biologist and a gardener. We run a small nursery (seed production and sale) and have always a lot to do. I like the life on the countryside, reading, crafting, classical concerts, watching figure skating and gymnastics. I´m really fond of classical ballet and love to go to live performances.
