Hi there, wherever you are!

I’m a booklover from Northern Finland. I prefer cold over hot and had a giggle when in a BBC article of Sir David Attenborough visiting Finland the journalist gushed how -18 Celsius degrees is so cold. While studying I remember biking 4km to lectures when it was -32 Celsius degrees. That was a bitch though, because while the gears of the bike freeze already in the gentler temperatures, -30 degrees affected the chains too. But cold weather is cold only if one dresses wrong. Hot weather you can’t escape because you can’t shed your skin when that’s feeling too much.

I love reading all kinds of books. I read a lot when I was younger, but stopped for some reason, and had to learn it again in the ripe old age of 28 when I exchanged TikTok for books, and let me tell you, it wasn't easy, especially with my ADHD. 😂 But it is possible! I check every book recommendation that I get. I'm also a huuuge cat lover, and I love to hear about fun names people give to their pets. Sadly, I only have my loyal and patient robot vacuum, named Mi Amore.

My favourite sport is ice hockey - although only watching it, as I can't stop when I ice skate which sometimes is a problem - and cross country-skiing is the worst, I wouldn't wish it to my worst enemy. It's a Finnish school sports classic which has both inspired and traumatized deeply our citizens. I belong to the latter group. I'm a textile handicrafts teacher (among other things) and I just adore everything handicrafts related, and I'm an ardent lover of everything retro, kitsch or slightly improper. Other main interests include The Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Star Wars, punk, heavy metal, and, um, Harry Styles.

(Btw, I travelled to a Harry Styles concert in Belgium this June and long story short, the +30 degrees celsius heat led to me getting the worst sunstroke ever despite a hat and everything. Missed most of the show, forgot the rest of it, didn't sleep, got the first ambulance ride of my life and ended up being put on an IV in a local hospital. Honestly, winter fits me soooo much better. Also, Finnish has a crude verb for feeling goddamn pissed off by something: vituttaa. Needless to say, I felt that a lot, though now I can joke about it. 😂 Though my heart still hurts. 😭😂 Please teach me expletives in your language for these kind of situations!)

I’ll be so darn happy to receive any card! A happy wiggle-dance happens every time I find one from my doorstep.

If you write me in other languages than English (or Finnish), please write suuuuper clearly maybe with capital letters, so I'll understand it better! Thank you! ❤️

And please, don't send anything extra to me if you're outside the EU. It'll get stuck in customs in the worst case scenario, and I have no way of filling the forms when I don't know what's in the package, and I also might need to pay a fee which I'd rather not. It's happened a couple of times, and frankly, I won't bail the packages out of the customs jail.
