About Marian...
Nice to meet you!
Even as a child I already loved receiving, writing and collecting postcards. Having been lucky enough to combine my two passions for history and teaching in one job, I now work at a history museum where I conduct projects for school and university groups and am also part of the team that plans new exhibitions.
I love travelling and writing, swimming for recreation, playing with my cats Francis and Florence (adopted from our local shelter), or going to the cinema. To put it in a nutshell, I am curious about this world we all share and the people who live in other countries.
My favourite postcards would be of museums and/or memorials in your country or ones that you visited while travelling. Please tell me a bit about the museum/memorial in question if you have such a card for me.
Other things that I am randomly very fond of:
• children or adults thoroughly enjoying a game or another activity, lost in the beauty of the moment
• sleeping cats
• inkwells, quills, crayons, pencils, typewriters...
• glasses that are half full (not half empty!)
• old churchyards and tombs
• sculptures that fascinate you or hold your interest (please also tell me why!)
• bright and dominant colours: green, purple, orange, blue
• specially designed meet-up cards with the Postcrossing logo (with or without sigantures/stamps)
• Coca Cola and other non-alcoholic soda beverages
• swimming and underwater pictures
• bowties, top hats, formally dressed gentlemen
Alles Gute (= "all the best" in German)!
