Hello you :)

I'm a 52 year old Australian, living with my partner and daughter in a quiet town about 2.5 hours west of Sydney, on the Great Dividing Range. That's my mailbox in the picture.

I first got into letter-writing when I was 8 years old. By the time I'd reached my teens it was an OBSESSION. It was the 1980's, Australia felt like the end of the earth, a place where nothing ever happened. Writing letters helped me feel connected to the rest of the world and to other people.

Postcrossing does the same.

The ideal postcard contains one or more of the following:

art & artifacts
words & letters
books & bookshelves
black & white
historical events
people who don't know they're being photographed
pictures of people doing everyday or unusual things
stairs, windows, doors, rooms
alleyways, signposts, streets, canals
Studio Ghibli, The Walking Dead, Luxury Comedy, Game of Thrones, the Beatles

The perfect postcard is covered in your handwriting and tells me something about your world... what you can see out the window, what you can hear... The more detail the better! I find it fascinating.
