Hello World!

My name is Hope Hayes, and I am the art teacher at Vickery Elementary School in Flower Mound, Texas, USA. Our school is in the Lewisville Independent School District. I have been a postcrosser for over a year, and I am now sharing postcrossing with the children of my school.

Each postcard received will be shared with the students, and displayed in the hallway along with a giant map of the world. The kids at my school range in age from 5 years old to about 12. More than half of our students are either native Spanish speakers, or learning to speak Spanish in our dual language program.

My goal is for students to broaden their knowledge of history and geography, while developing a appreciation for all cultures and respect for all people around the world.

Our school symbol is a rocket ship, and we are the Vickery "Voyagers". We would most like to receive postcards specific to your country with:

*Characters from children's books, television shows, or pop culture in your language
*Single or Multi-view of your city
*Monuments, Museums, Parks
*Anything space or travel related
*Historical Figures, Sports Figures, King/Queen, President etc…
*Art from your culture, including architecture, interior design, and fashion

Please include a note to the students about:
*Your town or country
*Your favorite food
*Something you like or don't like about school
*Your favorite children's book or story
*Your job
*Your family
*Anything that would help us to understand you or where you come from
