About Eddie...

Hi! Everybody calls me Eddie, so you can too :) . I'm 59 years old (though this changes, disastrously, in a couple of weeks) and happily married. I read a lot, collect stamps, write a blog, and spend time on the computer in strange worlds with names like Linux, Emacs, and LaTeX. I look after my wife (who is disabled & homebound), and I work part-time from home. When I leave the house, it's to go to a concert or a museum, or do some volunteer work, or wander around one of our cities looking at the buildings and enjoying the street life.

Here are cards I like to get:
- I like touristy cards, and I especially like touristy cards from where you live.
- I REALLY like street scenes, downtowns, libraries, places of worship, colleges, museums, or any neat-o buildings.
- If you're an artist and make your own cards, that's fine; I might enjoy them.

Here are cards I don't especially like to get:
- We don't have 'collectible series' like Nouvelles Images or Inge Löök here, so I can't send them and I don't collect them.
- I have to say that I don't really do well with anything that is too cute for words, like Bunny Suicides or dogs dressed up in clown suits. I am not very interested in anime or superheroes or vampires.

Here is what I can send you:
- Most of the cards I purchase are touristy cards from southern New England, so that's what you'll probably get from me.
- Many of my art cards will probably be by local artists, too (or at least artists with some New England connection).
- Therefore: If you like to see places in Connecticut, you'll like me and think I'm cool! If not, you'll probably think, 'Awwww, Eddie is boring and stupid!' (And you'll be right. I am. But please don't tell anybody, OK?)
- I'll send stamped and written because that's what most people like. But if you'd rather I use an envelope with stamps, that's fine, too; just tell me.
- There are no UNESCO heritage sites in all of New England. I don't know why not, but there are none. So I cannot send you any UNESCO cards.

I don't scan postcards and put them up on 'postcard walls'. I'm sorry. I really don't have the time to do that.

Je peux lire et comprendre français assez bien, mais je ne peux pas l'écrire. Mi español es inefablemente inferior; pero, yo practico.
