About TintaDaChina...
Hello everyone!
I'm a Portuguese biologist, working with birds and bats for several years, trying to protect flying animals.
I lived in many European cities, before I return to Portugal. I speak a few European languages, but now I'm learning Mandarin Chinese. I am doing it for six long years!!!! It's not so hard, but I discovered that some parts of my brain can really work!!! Perseverance is the key!
But my great passion is the Cinema and the magic that cinema offers (for me, there's nothing more exciting as the seconds before the film starts!).
There were some movies that change, literally, the way I see the world: Fellini's "Amarcord", Fellini's "Otto e Mezzo", Edward Yang's "Yi Yi: a one and a two / 一一"; Aki Kaurismäki's "The Man Without a Past", Bresson's "Au hasard Balthazar", and "Mouchette", Andrey Zvyagintsev's "The Return (Возвращение)" and "Leviathan (Левиафан); Dardenne brothers' "Le Fils", Nanni Moretti's "La stanza del figlio", Abbas Kiarostami's "Close-Up کلوزآپ ، نمای نزدیک"; Truffaut's "Les 400 coups", Yasujirō Ozu's "Late Spring / 晩春", Almodóvar's "Todo sobre mi madre", Sergei Loznitsa's "In the Fog / В тумане", Carl Th. Dreyer's "La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc", Víctor Erice's "El espiritu de la colmena", Takeshi Kitano's "Kikujiro / 菊次郎の夏" and many many more...
But nobody can direct like Wong Kar-wai (王家衛). In a word: perfection!
I am discovering now more filmography from other parts of the world (Brazil, Iran, Romania, Russian Federation, Colombia, Sweden,...)
I have no favourite kind of postcard. You are free to send me any kind, whatever you want! Really!
But your message must be important. For you! Please write me something significant! It is the only thing I ask.
I'm still a dreamer, I believe in the power of change! And I am the luckiest man alive!
