I am enjoying Postcrossing so much: sending and getting cards and keeping alive that little flame of hope on opening the mailbox!
I used to work in the US Postal Service and I still believe in the power of the written word to communicate more closely and more effectively than email or Facebook or the many other electronic options we have today. And combining words and images, as on a postcard...well, there you have it.
I no longer work outside the home, thank goodness! I am fortunate to be able to spend my time pretty much as I please and that mostly means with a book in my hand and a pile of yet-to-be-read ones nearby. I enjoy all kinds of literature, from the classics to the latest thriller or mystery. I also like movies, plays, and musicals. I listen mostly to jazz via station KPLU, which is available on-line for streaming as well as over the airwaves for folks like me. I love art and design, especially modern styles and periods. Cards with themes of books, art, design, Moomin and friends, philosophy, and things unique to your country would be welcome! My Favorites list includes many cards I like that I have not received. If you were so inclined, you could scroll through there for ideas! Peace through Postcrossing!
