HELLO/ SALUT/ HALLO/ HOLA

I am fluent in four languages (French, English, German, and Spanish), and I can read some Italian and Portuguese (because Romance languages). I'd also welcome the challenge of a postcard in Dutch, Danish, Swedish or Norwegian. A few years ago, I tried to learn Slovakian, but nothing really stuck. However if you speak Slovakian or Czech, you're more than welcome to write a few words! Ja som jahoda!

STAMPS AND ENVELOPES

I prefer no envelope. Better for the environment!

I really really love pretty and original stamps. If you're from a country that has made hockey stamps, such a stamp would totally make my day! In a general manner I like stamps with bees, flowers and frogs, too. I also collect stamps from the 1976 Montréal Olympics, and anything LGBTQ+. Just send anything cool! Or anything you have! :)

ABOUT ME

I study horticulture / botany at a technical college. My journey wasn't super straightforward, and as such, I'm a bit all over the place, but I did study Germanistics in uni, and lived in Berlin for a year. I'm sort of obsessed with anything pertaining to the German culture.

I like music, art, plants and gardening, beer, movies and series, languages, traveling, and pondering about History, philosophy and science. Also books! I collect stamps and postcards. My favourite movies are the Lord of the Rings trilogiy, and I love love love non American detective series, especially if they are historical. I like whiskey and tea, and a lot of other things. I'm also very queer, and as this is a recent development in my life, a lot of my interests revolve around finding content that explores these intersectionalities in my life. I would ABSOLUTELY love a gay or transgender or queer-themed postcard.

LIKES

I like single view landmarks or landscapes the most. Show me your region, make me want to travel! Otherwise, anything goes, provided you think it's good enough quality. I'm good with all animals except spiders. I love male erotica. I like botanical drawings... Honestly, everything's good, except I don't really enjoy politicians and royalty or violence. Do not send anything about Harry Potter, please. Pink and cutesy and 'girly' things are a bit of a trigger for me, so please do not send. In the end, the content matters more to me than the card, though!

WHAT TO WRITE

If you don't know what to say, maybe share a few words in your mother tongue, with a translation. If you're still unsure, tell me about something that makes you happy, or a pun or joke in your language (with an explanation if required!), If you're still strapped for ideas, how about telling me about the culture of your country? Artists, authors, politics, history, whatever! Also, if you know of any positive queer news in your region, I'd love to hear about it!
