About Julia...

Hello!

My name is Julia but my friends from other countries who speak English call me Jul, like a month. My granddad gave me this name because I was born in July. You can call me Jul too because we're all friends here. I am from the oldest town in the Moscow Region in Russia - Volokolamsk and I am very proud of the place where I was born.

Here I have danced folk dances for eight years, then played volleyball for six years in a local team and then in my University team in Moscow for another three years. I am happy that my country is famous for having many world-known dancers (especially ballet dancers), and for being good at my favorite sport. In your letter you could write about your hobby and the team that you support, I’d be glad to learn more about you this way.

A few years ago my husband and I got a guinea pig. It’s actually my first pet because I wasn’t allowed to have one when I lived with my parents. I didn’t know that an animal this small could have such a strong character. He’s independent, cocky, demanding but also very smart. We love him a lot. If you have pets, you can tell me about them.

Also, I love to travel, meet new people from different countries and learn interesting facts about other cultures. I would happily receive a postcard depicting your country/city/town or a place that you’ve been to. You can tell me a little bit about it. And it would be nice if you wrote a few words in your native language with translation - languages fascinate me, that’s why I’m studying Philology in university.

I like reading, listening to music and watching movies/TV series. You can send me a postcard with your favorite actor, book or performer on it. Mostly I read books by Russian authors and my favourite is "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoevsky. As for foreign authors, my favourites are George Orwell and his "1984" and Emile Azhar "The Life Before Us" (La vie devant soi). I'd like to receive recommendations from you about some must-read books. Recently I became interested in van Gogh and like not only his art but also his letters to friends and his brother. I can call Vrubel my favourite painter, I love his "The Demon Seated". Maybe we have something in common in this area?

Overall, I'd be glad to receive any postcard, because it goes with love.

I really like reading long letters so feel free to send me an envelope with your letter and you can also add something like ticket or a bag of tea if you want. Say a word, and I’ll send you something in return.

Here is my e-mail: julia.diagileva.99@gmail.com so we can talk more if you want.

Дорогие посткроссеры, пишущие на русском языке! Ко мне абсолютно свободно можно обращаться на "ты" и писать неполное имя - Юля . Мне кажется, такие простые обращения делают людей на этом сайте чуточку ближе.
