About SuitcaseDonna...
My wife Janet and I have been married since June 2015 (thanks to the law in the USA finally changing) but we celebrated our 35th anniversary in November. I work in a hospital in Richmond, Virginia; Janet has now retired after 42 years of nursing at this same hospital. Our “COVID-19 baby” is a hound dog named Cokie.
We absolutely love to travel. We especially enjoy the National Parks in America and are slowly working our way through all of them and still have 13 states to visit! But we also enjoy visiting other countries -- so far we have been to Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Costa Rica and in the summer 2016, we had a fantastic trip to Southern Africa where we visited South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. In November 2017, we took our first cruise ever - a Viking River Cruise on the Danube - so now we can add Hungary, Slovakia, The Czech Republic, Austria & Germany to our list! In July 2019, we had a fantastic adventure to southeast Alaska!
Janet is English, having been raised in the London suburb of Harrow; I was raised in southwest Virginia. We have a wide range of interests so we will appreciate any type of postcard you want to send!
PS -- We adore Inge Look's artwork. We have #1(40463), 2(46513), 3 - 18, 19(50300), 20(50326), 21, 22(53453), 23, 24(54186), 25 - 28, 29(56132), 30 - 34, 35(60399), 36(60568), 37 - 42, 43(65334), 44(65725), 45 - 73, 101, 105, 106, 109, 111, 113, 119, 208, 209, 210, 213, 217, 604, 606, 610 and 614. (The numbers on the ones printed by Paletti are in the parenthesis.) We also have the ONNEA/congratulations card but I can’t see a number on it. AND we have the Paletti one numbered 54186 (green umbrella).
Please, no envelopes, no teabags, no inserts, etc. Thanks.
PS -- We do not register cards we do not receive.
ATTENTION Germans (and neighbors): My 2020 60th birthday Rhine River cruise has finally been rescheduled for April 2023. Our stops will be in Basel, Breisach, Strasbourg, Speyer, Rudesheim, Koblenz, Cologne, Kinderdijk and Amsterdam. We will have “excursions” at every stop but will usually be given some free time at each destination, too. If there are any can’t-miss shops or bakeries along our route, please tell us! ALSO, debating an all-day cycling trip (on electric bike) in the Black Forest region. Should we do it? THANKS!! [We will eventually get there!]
And ATTENTION those who live in or near Amsterdam, we need some restaurant recommendations! We will add 4 nights in Amsterdam on to the end of our cruise. We have been there before....and loved it....but would like to find some good restaurants
