I work in IT as a Business Analyst. I have a brown tabby cat named Vincent, a brown & white curly haired cat named Olly (he was a stray, so maybe a Cornish Rex), and a sable & white Pembroke corgi named Charles. I love animals and volunteer at the local Humane Society.
I studied Archaeology & Art for my undergrad, then went back to school for Business. I also went to school for Culinary Arts, so I love food. I mostly read non-fiction (history, true crime) but also like mystery novels. My hobbies include drawing, cross-stitch, and yoga.
I live in Wisconsin which is in the middle north of the US, just north of Chicago & West of Lake Michigan. (One of the 5 Great Lakes.) Winters are snowy & summers are warm and humid.
I live in the capital city of Madison. We're the "Badger State" because some of the first Europeans in the area were Cornish lead miners who looked kind of like burrowing animals when they came up out of the mines. Bucky Badger is the state university's mascot. Later immigrants came from central & eastern Europe, so we have a lot of cheese, sausage, & beer.
Every vacation, I take a list of addresses & love sending postcards. Even if I'm only someplace for a day or two, my grandparents get a postcard (even if I don't have time to send to anyone else.) They now have quite a collection from around the world.
As for the type of postcards I like to receive? Any! Send a postcard of something interesting to you & tell me about it. Tell me your travel recommendations. A favorite recipe? Lunar New Year cards are always fun. Cute animals. Illustrations. Art. Or send what you think I might be interested in.
No matter what type you send, I’m always thrilled to get postcards. :)
Parlez-vous français? Si oui, écrivez en français alors je puisse pratiquer, s’il vous plaît. :)
I have a public Instagram account @heather_postcrossing if you want to get in touch that way as well.
**I got a cool card of a nose flute player from Malaysia sent 20/03/19. There was no ID# or username. If you sent it & see this, thank you!**
