About Sandra...
I was born and live in a small town in Germany called Lingen. I have lived in an even smaller town called East Runton in England for 2,5 years.
I am a social worker and work with young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who, for different reasons, can't find an apprenticeship after school or dropped out early. I help them through teaching German, English, Math and other things that they will need in their future jobs. My colleagues and I also help them to write job applications and motivate them to do practical trainings. Most of the youngsters do get a job when they leave us.
My hobbies are writing (poetry, short-stories, novels -> http://www.nanowrimo.org), reading (mainly urban fantasy with romantic and/ or erotic aspects), pen & paper role-playing games (Call of Cthulhu, Vampire,...), geocaching, board games and our two "second-hand" cats Tinka and Fussel.
I like all kinds of postcards (though cards related to writing and books are really special to me) and I am a keen collector of spooky and scary stories and haunted places. So, if anything strange has happened to you (it doesn't need to be a massive thing, e.g. just a flickering light and a spooky feeling before a storm hit) or in the area where you live, I’d be really glad if you could tell me about it!
Apart from that, I just love receiving any mail from anywhere and learn something about you, your country, your religion... Just write whatever you feel like. (And please put the sending-date and, in case it's not visible, your hometown/ country on the card, thanks!)
If you've got time, happy postcards, stamps and a bit of love to spare, please check out these websites: http://www.sendkidstheworld.com/ or http://www.postpals.co.uk/
(They feature kids with life threatening illnesses and injuries and enable you to reach out to them and send them encouraging postcards from all around the world.)
P.S.: I re-send expired postcards on days 60 and 120, but I won't send a card more often. If it can't reach its destination then, I assume the address is wrong or the person has moved on or whatever...
