I am a 64 year-old woman who currently lives with two crazy cats and works in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. I am retired from the US military (Air Force) but work part time in a yarn store that participates in a program to find homes for stray cats. So we have cats (one at a time) walking around the yarn store so I get to play with yarn and cats while I am working. I also teach crochet, lacemaking, and embroidery at various locations around the city.

Albuquerque is in the center of the state of New Mexico in the American Southwest. The scenery is mostly desert and rock formations, with pine tree forests at higher elevations. We do not get much rain and are having a serious drought.

I enjoy all types of needlework such as making lace (both with bobbin and needle), sewing, knitting, crochet, quilting, embroidery, weaving, etc. I am very much interested in women's rights, issues, and their lives all around the world.

I love to read books (all types), and work in my small garden on the balcony of my apartment. I also love art, drawing, and painting with watercolors but I am not good at it, but I love flowers of all types, and have studied botanical illustration My favorite flowers are lilacs, lavender, and sunflowers.

Science, nature, geology, and environmental issues also interest me greatly. I collect rocks and enjoy walking and hiking in the wilderness and nature. I volunteer at a Natural History Museum. I take photos of any plants, animals, birds, reptiles, and insects I see and post them to iNaturalist.org, a citizen scientist website (or app)

I love exploring different websites that other postcrossers list on their profiles. I have learned so much from them.

Meeting people from different cultures and countries has always been interesting to me. I have been collecting postcards my entire life. I have had pen pals since I was a young girl and still write to a few today. I love how postcard and letter exchanges make me more aware of the rest of the world.

I would love to receive any post cards you want to send, but I especially enjoy receiving "tourist" type postcards of your local area such as city, people and life, art, archaeology, and all types of scenery, flowers, trees, and nature. I also enjoy receiving postcards of women working on arts and crafts. I want to learn more about the world and your country or state.
