I am Denise and I love to travel and take pictures. I have been many places with many more yet to see. When I turned 50, I decided if I am going to see this world I better get out there and see it. I booked a trek adventure to Egypt & Jordan, had a wonderful time and I have never looked back. I been to 32 countries in Africa, Central America, SE Asia, Europe and Australia & NZ. Retired after 35 years at the phone company. I have a love of dogs and I really missed having one around, so I decided to open my home to care for other people's dogs, basically Airbnb for dogs. I have lived in my home for the past 19 years and I have a son and daughter that are grown up and live away from here.
Where I live, Edmonton, capital of Canada's Alberta province, sits on the North Saskatchewan River and it is North America's northernmost city with a metropolitan population over one million. Edmonton is a cultural, governmental and educational center. It hosts a year-round slate of festivals, reflected in the nickname "Canada's Festival City". It is home to North America's largest mall, West Edmonton Mall (the world's largest mall from 1981 until 2004) and Fort Edmonton Park, Canada's largest living history museum where the past is recreated with an 1846 fort. Edmonton is 4 hours from the beautiful Rocky mountains with both Jasper & Banff National Parks.
I collect postcards and send them to my friends and family on my journey I really love silver jewelry and I tend to buy to much of it! I also try and walk éveryday especially when I am caring for dogs. I love the ocean but I live on the prairies so the only beachfront property I'll ever be able to afford is a sandcastle.
I will be glad to receive your postcards especially those that revolve around photography (I love bright & colorful but not the multiviews), great sites, Atlas Obscura, music-rock, vintage 30-50's linen postcards, national parks, landscapes, maps, funny, dogs, pets or unusual things like Dragons or Mermaids, Lantern Press and even your vacation postcards (I want to hear about your experiences). I also love the vintage style travel postcards (national parks or travel) but only if you have access to them. If you create your own postcards, I would really love to receive one. I do not wish to make demands and in the end, I hope you choose a card that you think best for me as this site is about sharing and not collecting. I want to know about you so tell me a little bit about your life, possibly what is your most crazy, funny, brave, motivational or even embarrassing story that happened to you.
May you have peace and love in your life, long may you run (Neil Young). Please add your profile name to your postcard so I can read about you before I send a thank you message.
