About Dan...

Hello!

My name is D. Phoenix, 40 years old and work in medical research with institutes all around the US. I miss the days where I traveled constantly. I have lived in over 17 States in the U.S. and traveled throughout Western Europe. My current job doesn't allow me to travel like I did and I miss it and the feelings I got from being somewhere new.

My wife is a full time photographer and actually has her own Etsy store where she sells postcards (although occasionally I steal one to send to people).

For postcard preferences, I enjoy a few things that are common and a few that are not.
* I love fantasy art, darker art themes (not Twilight or silly vampires but true, more Gothic or creepy art)
* Wolves
* Unique festivals for the region you may be mailing from (such as Weinachtsmarkt in Germany)
* Unique artwork or even unique postcards
* Music
* Humor
* Mountains
* Japanese themed artwork (cherry blossoms)
* Maxi-cards, shaped-cards or something unusual and unique.

* I am open to almost anything, but I do prefer solid pictures over multi-view cards and would prefer any type of art over religious themes, overly cutesy cards, or advertisements.
* One of my favorite TV shows is Firefly and I am desperately looking to get some Firefly or Serenity postcards. They were never available in the US. I would be happy to direct swap for them as well :)

I love new recipes for local food, local music from the area with a preference towards folk/indie/acoustic/electronica music, a favorite books of yours for me to have something new to look into (I prefer fiction, fantasy, humor), or share something you are afraid to share with someone you know.

*** And a THANK YOU to my wife Emarie (Username: Gypsebo)...who not only got me into PostCrossing, but makes sure to photograph, archive, and make sure my Postcard Wall is up to date (sent AND received) :)
