Hello Postcrossers! Hi, my name is Sally (or Sal for short). I'm a 36 yr old from Newcastle, Australia. My husband & I are a couple of big kids who have a lot of fun together. Much to the bewilderment of our friends and family, we have become total Japanophiles. Besides the self-admitted obsession in one specific culture, our lives are pretty normal & lived to the fullest. We have a 4yr old girl and 15 month old baby boy. We also have a budgie, a cheeky little rabbit & a garden pond full of big, happy goldfish.

Things I love:
* music - anything except Top 40/commercial, country & death metal
* manga & anime - such as the works of Osamu Tezuka's (ASTROBOY! <3), Naoki Urasawa, Shigeru Mizuki.
* movies/TV - horror/thriller/zombies, anime, comedy (the more politically incorrect, dark, inappropriate and offensive the better), some trashy reality, documentaries. A few examples: "Silence of the Lambs", "Dexter", "Astro Boy", "Family Guy", "Mad Men", etc.
* sportscars - Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, etc.
* retro/vintage clothes, homewares, art deco design.
* travel
* video games (console/arcade) - retro, Nintendo, zombie-related, racing games
* Retro-style dresses. Life's too short to wear pants.
* a good quality wine, craft beer, smooth sake, perfectly sweet umeshu and inventive cocktails.
* natural scenery, such as moss-covered rocks, waterfalls, lakes, majestic clouds during sunrise, lush rainforest canopies, snow, and especially foggy landscapes.

I just finished a Japanese degree at uni & work in a science role for the government.

- anything about Japan
- 20th century vintage/retro, especially 60's & 70's
- horror, e.g. zombies
- video games, especially retro, e.g. Pacman, Space Invaders
- beer, wine, cocktails
- rabbits, sharks and any other animals EXCEPT cats (UNLESS THEY'RE JAPANESE, e.g. Hello Kitty, waving cat, ukiyo-e). Lions & tigers (& bears, oh my!) are awesome. Cats are not.
- dark, politically incorrect humour & sarcasm
- scenery with lush moss, snow, fog, waterfalls
- art deco
- quirky
- vintage travel posters
- black & white
- vintage

Please, please, please DO NOT send me:
- generic tourist & multiview. I find them boring and incredibly disappointing to receive. Please send them to people who want them instead.
- cats
- Touchnote
- greeting cards
- postcards in envelopes. That's not what postcards are for. It really annoys me. Please respect my request.
- postcards that say "hello, happy postcrossing" & nothing else. I want to know about YOU (or where you live).
- typed messages.
